A black grey with great luster just like a black pearl. A lustrous and opalescent mica that adds the mysterious accent you might be looking for.

"Not your mom's charcoal - Sparkle, deep dark sparkle. I paired this with a ghost type swirl done in charcoal and the sparkle contrast is amazing."
—Kelly W. (verified)

If you are looking for deeper black, check out our Wicked black mica, or try some black iron oxide or activated hardwood charcoal (depending on your medium).

Additional Information:

  • Usage rates can be varied to lighten or darken hue. Listed amounts create bright colors with no colored suds.
  • To use in bath bombs or other bath products (water applications), we recommend using polysorbate 80 at a rate of approximately 2% of your total batch weight (dry and wet ingredients). This should allow the color to disperse evenly and eliminate mica from floating on the water's surface or leaving a ring of color around the tub.
  • Sample bags contain approximately one teaspoon.

Pen Blanks

Used this to make some Saint's themed pen blanks as well as some Voodoo Red to make gorgeous black and pink pen blanks. Pens turned out great, didn't affect the resin at all. Will buy again.

with this black, you really don't need much, and it's not a grey. IT really black!! a little goes a long way!!

Gorgeous

I wasn't sure about the depth of this mica when I saw the powder but wow. It came out beautifully! I made a shiny and a matte for comparison. Definitely going to be using this as my go to black for all my resin pieces.

What a great product!! I did have to use more than I thought I would get a good solid black color. But still wonderful!

Okay!

So I’ve been looking for colorants for whipped soap, which turns out has been extremely hard. I saw this was the blackest black they had and knew I needed to try it! While it did better than the other black pigments I’ve tried, it still unfortunately came out grey.
