Velvet Plum Mica
Lab Notes: Smoky dark purple. Velvety, like a Queen’s gown or the stuffed royal chairs she sits in while having her afternoon tea.
This color also brings back memories from when I was a small child: watching my grandmother's purple pansies and African Violets in her windowsill dancing in the light summer breeze.
Testing with 3 grams per pound of cold process soap batter produced a smoky purple that became richer and deeper while it cured.
Bright and mesmerizing in epoxy resin and clear MP soap (usage in MP was ½ teaspoon per lb. of clear base).
The custom manufacturing process of these exclusive colors may result in slight variations from lot to lot.

- Mad Micas sources exclusively from ethical supply lines.
- Mad Micas requires declarations from all suppliers stating that no minors participate in mining, factory work, transportation or any other process involved in the production of anything we carry.
- Mad Micas will not source product from areas (for example, mica from India) in which there have been documented ethical transgressions.
- The Mad Micas transport supply chain consists exclusively of major carriers like FedEx, UPS, and DHL and thus is free of forced or child labor.

Such an amazing colorant! Can't wait to soap with it!
I used to use a different "plum" shade of purple from another company for my Kakadu Plum MP soap, but no longer! Velvet Plum will be permanently replacing this other inferior mica. I wish I had bought more of it, but I was new to Mad Micas at the time, and didn't know much about the Color Lab colours. I'm hoping that this color will make a comeback, especially because it is stable in both CP and MP soap! A little bit of this goes a LONG way, so if you want a lighter shade, it is suggested to mix it with titanium dioxide or a white mica of some description -- it will create beautiful shades of purple of different intensities. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
