The famed Golden Buddha was discovered in 1957 when a group of monks were relocating their Monastery in Thailand. They noticed a large crack in what they thought was a clay Buddha.

"Absolutely gorgeous! I’ve used this in my cold process soap (beautiful creamy golden color) and in my bath bombs ... I want a gallon of this lol."
—Yvonne G. (verified)

Further inspection of this crack revealed that the Buddha was in fact made of solid gold. Historians believe that it had been covered in clay hundreds of years prior to protect it from an attack by the Burmese army.

It is most definitely a treasure, and we are so excited to bring you this magnificent gold. It’s just exquisite; reminiscent of the gold jewelry found in Thailand. Whatever medium you choose: soap, resin, make up, etc., Golden Buddha mica will not disappoint.

Additional Information:

  • Usage rates can be varied to lighten or darken hue. Listed amounts create bright colors with no colored suds.
  • To use in bath bombs or other bath products (water applications), we recommend using polysorbate 80 at a rate of approximately 2% of your total batch weight (dry and wet ingredients). This should allow the color to disperse evenly and eliminate mica from floating on the water's surface or leaving a ring of color around the tub.

Favorite gold by far

It's truly difficult to choose a favorite mad mica color. But this is my favorite (don't tell the others). It it my universal soap color and is also beautiful in balms and body butters.

Love the subtle color

I originally bought this mica for custom nail polish making but I used it for my body butter instead. A little goes a long way! It gave my body butter a beautiful shimmer with just a micro amount of a portion. Love it!!

I fell in love

This is the best gold that has ever golded before. I've used many paints and powders for resin and clay but this... This is glorious. 100 out of 10 will buy again and recommend!

Golden buddha

My daughter wanted a gold and black soap, and this was the perfect gold. It didn’t morph, it stayed a nice gold color I even drizzled a little of the mica mixed with oil on top of the soap for a beautiful gilded look! I ordered only .5 oz but next time will be ordering a larger size!
