Sample bags contain one generous teaspoon (approx. 3-4 g).
Botanical Name: Carbo activatus
Unlike bamboo and coconut charcoal, this charcoal is made right here in the U.S.A. and comes from a renewable resource. It's a food grade activated charcoal powder made from American hardwood trees.
This is just as effective in body products as any other activated charcoal. It is suitable for external applications, such as in soaps, poultices, compresses and baths, and for the treatment of infections of the skin.
NOT INTENDED FOR HUMAN OR ANIMAL CONSUMPTION. We are not a facility that is certified by the FDA to package foods.
It is used in soap to create a black or grey color. Mixes easily in water.
Cold process: Use 1 Tablespoon per lb. of oil. This will create a nice deep black without discoloring the lather. Add the activated charcoal to your batch at the beginning of trace. A little goes a LONG way.
Melt & Pour: Use 2-3 teaspoons per lb. of soap base.
